Quality of Education

Continue to improve outcomes in writing by:

Developing the quality of teaching and learning for non-fiction text features.

Using analysis of pupils writing to sharpen planning

Developing interventions to address gaps in learning.

Developing cohesion in pupils writing

Ensuring pupils get the right opportunities to apply taught skills.

Improve the quality of teaching and learning for more able pupils.

Improve the teaching of guided reading across KS2 by mirroring KS1 practices.

Ensure quality texts in school are used rather than booklets

Use analysis from testing to feed into medium term plans and from lessons to feed into other lessons.

Focus on reading gems at age related levels

Increase the amount of reading for information across foundation subjects.

Further improve pupils’ ability to reason and problem solve by:

Ensuring the number skills of pupils of all abilities are secure

Ensuring pupils are progressively taught strategies for solving problems of different types

Developing staff ability and confidence in supporting pupils when problem solving

Develop a consistent language of reasoning across the curriculum

Review interventions for maths for numbers, reasoning and problem solving.

Ensure the needs of all pupils with SEND are extremely well met, both in and out of the classroom leading to improved outcomes.

Set up Den provision to provide focused teaching for pupils with higher level learning needs.

Review provision map to ensure interventions are available to meet the needs of all pupils with SEND

Review SEMH provision for lunchtimes

Ensure that the SEND referral process is rigorous and provides the timely support that individual pupils need.
Behaviour and Attitudes/ Personal Development

Improve pupils' attendance and punctuality

Review processes to ensure staff can access relevant information regarding support for pupils and families where attendance and punctuality are an issue.

Ensure attendance tracking is robust and addresses concerns swiftly

Review roles of all staff in regards to attendance in line with new Government requirements.

Raise profile of attendance and punctuality with pupils by using halo system.
Leadership and Management

Continue to enhance the impact of middle leaders, UPR and aspiring UPR staff by:
